Design Consultation
We visit your property to discuss your vision, assess the site, and take measurements. You'll receive design recommendations, paver samples, and a detailed proposal with pricing.
Layout & Marking
Before any digging, we mark the exact walkway path with spray paint or stakes. You'll approve the layout and can request adjustments before construction begins.
Excavation
We excavate 6-10 inches deep depending on soil conditions and expected use. Proper depth is critical for a stable base that won't settle or shift over time.
Base Installation
Crushed stone is installed in layers, each compacted to precise specifications. We establish proper slope for drainage—typically 1/4 inch per foot away from structures.
Edge Restraints
Sturdy plastic or aluminum edge restraints are secured along the walkway perimeter. These keep pavers locked in place for decades of use.
Paver Installation
After screeding a perfectly level sand bed, we carefully install each paver according to your chosen pattern. Cuts at edges and curves are made with precision saws.
Final Compaction & Jointing
The entire walkway is compacted with a plate vibrator to set pavers firmly. Polymeric joint sand is swept in and activated with water, locking everything together.
